David Powers was born and raised in Littleton, Colorado. Post high school graduation he joined the Marine Corps Infantry in 1991. After four years of active service David received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with a minor in Math from Metropolitan State University of Denver in 2001. He completed his Master of Science degree in Physics at San Diego State University in 2004. During this time David Interned at Scripps Green Hospital in La Jolla, California as a Medical Physicist in the Radiation Oncology department. Following graduation, David entered residency for Medical Physics in Radiation Therapy at Scripps Green Hospital and Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego, California. He was successfully board certified in Therapeutic Radiation Medical Physics in 2009 from The American Board of Radiology. In 2009 David moved back to Colorado with his wife and family of four children. He is currently the lead Medical Physicist at Porter Adventist Hospital in Denver. David is honored and excited to be part of the Radiation Oncology team here at Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital. He is dedicated to building a world class Radiation Oncology department delivering high-quality cancer care.
